Eagle Fun Days is the day that everyone around Eagle looks forward to all year! It’s 2 days packed full with events around downtown Eagle to celebrate our town and the beautiful country we live in. Eagle Fun Days takes place this summer on July 5th-6th, just a month after the annual rodeo. This year is our city’s 48th annual celebration and it grows bigger and better each year! Between the parade, the car show, the market and live performances at the gazebo, there is something for everyone.

Friday, July 5th

Family Fun Night

Friday Night kicks off our weekend of fun with the Family Fun Night held from 5-8pm at Eagle City Hall (660 E Civic Ln). This event is packed full of activities for all ages. A mini car show is held as a little preview to the larger one held on Saturday. For the little ones, there’s bounce houses, photo booths, and kids games. A fun run is held that ends in a wet section provided by the Eagle Fire Department. And don’t worry about dinner, because there’s a food truck round up of all the best bites on wheels around.

Taste of Eagle

There is also an event held at Heritage Park called Taste Eagle. From 7-9pm, local restaurants provide a taste of their incredible foods. Local alcohol and wine can be tasted and purchased from a local brewery at the event. To complete this night of fine dining and good taste, live music will be played in the gazebo.

Saturday, July 6th

Eagle Fun Run

Saturday is packed full of events starting at 8 am with the Eagle Fun Run. The event features a 5K and a 10K and includes a free breakfast for the participants provided by the Eagle Police and Fire Department. Participants can sign up on the City of Eagle’s website.

Opening Ceremonies + Corn Hole + Market

Opening Ceremonies are held at 11 am and kicked off by our mayor, Stan Ridgeway. Later in the afternoon, the corn hole tournament begins at 3 pm. The grand winner taking home their very own corn hole set. Teams of two people can sign up on the City of Eagle’s website.

What’s for lunch?

All day, the parking lot between Heritage Park and Smokey Mountain is filled with any type of food you can imagine could come out of a truck! The streets are loaded with tents of local vendors with gifts and goodies to give you, win or buy, similar to the Saturday Market.

Car Show

The car show is held from 12 – 4 pm on Old State Street on the grounds of the Creekside Baptist Church. A map can be found on the City of Eagle’s website. Registration begins at 10 am with a minimum donation of $5 to go towards the City Light Women’s and Children’s home and the Eagle Youth Scholarship Program. There are over 35 sponsored trophies to be awarded to the best hot rods.

Parade

The Wet n Wild Parade begins at 1 pm and starts at the intersection of Old State Street + Edgewood proceeding West. My best recommendation is to come early to get a good spot and bring a squirt gun, a tub of water and an umbrella! The parade hosts many local businesses that walk, dance or sing by handing out candy and coupons. It’s kind of like Halloween in July! After the dry parade, a big sign and the Eagle Fire Departments fire truck come through horns and hoses a blazin’! This is the beginning of float full of truck loads of people with water guns and hoses getting ready for a city wide water fight! It’s a total blast!

Fireworks

After a day of festivities, the city closes the fun with an incredible firework display. They don’t disclose where they will light off the fireworks every year but it can be seen from anywhere in downtown Eagle. Merrill Park is a common place to sit and watch or by the gazebo in Heritage Park. No matter where you go, don’t forget a something to sit on and some bug spray!

Eagle Fun Days is a celebration of our city and one of the best ways to see what our community is all about. If you have any questions feel free to give me a call anytime! See you there!
