The Best of the Best
If you landed on this page, you must be looking for some delicious barbeque. Look no further, I have the perfect recommendation! There is one BBQ restaurant in Eagle that is world-class, Bodacious Pig Barbeque. Located in downtown Eagle near the intersection where old State Street and Eagle Road meet, you will find some of the best of the best barbeque in all of Idaho.
The Ambiance
There are few things in life better than some authentic BBQ. If you’re a smoked-meat lover, then Eagle Idaho should be your destination. We’re home to one of the top-rated BBQ restaurants in the state of Idaho.
My favorite restaurant is located in the beautiful downtown Eagle, Idaho, Bodacious Pig Barbecue. Bodacious Pig Barbecue is a hip and casual environment where you are welcome to enjoy a variety of barbeque cooked just right. Their food is delicious and addictive according to almost every customer. Their food is prepared with tender love and will be tenderly loved by all who come into the restaurant.
The Food
The barbeque meal served here is nothing short of incredible. Starters include stuffed potato skins, sliders, and my personal favorite, the pulled pork nachos. The white corn chips topped with slow-smoked pulled pork, BBQ sauce, a blend of cheeses, sour cream, guacamole, pico de gallo & a sprinkle of green onions are brought out sizzling for the tablet to enjoy together. This starter is a crowd favorite!
For your entree, you can pick from a wide selection of salads, sandwiches, and slow-cooked bbq plates. I have tried and tested almost every item up and down their menu and every time I enjoyed and savored each bite. There truly is no going wrong with anything you pick!
The favored among my kids would be the RR Ranch Signature Tri-Tip- a half pound of sliced, slow-cooked smoked tri-tip, or the Ribs- a St. Louis cut, dry rubbed then smoked for hours. Through the magic of spices, plenty of smoke, plus low and slow cooking, the end result is melt-in-your-mouth meat heaven.
Is your mouth watering yet?
Their Story
Bodacious Pig was established in 2013 and combines the expertise of Joel and Tricia Anderson, husband and wife restaurateurs, to provide this modern and traditional barbecue experience in downtown Eagle.
Joel, Bodacious Pig’s pitmaster, brings more than 10 years of experience to the table when he cooks Bodacious Pig’s BBQ. Joel rises early each morning to smoke the meats. Slow-smoked barbecue takes a lot of time and a special technique to create a mouth-watering flavor. Joel must cook all the meats for the restaurant before anyone arrives. Bodacious Pig doesn’t serve reheated or twice-cooked meat either, so Bodacious Pig’s advice to customers is to come early and enjoy!
Tricia learned her culinary skills at The Culinary Center in Monterey, California. While Joel smokes the meats each morning, Tricia prepares Bodacious Pig’s soups, salads, sandwiches, and seafood. This restaurant is all about proving delicious fresh eats. They don’t use shortcuts and truly want to provide the best food and experience possible.
