Art in the Park 2019

The Boise Art Museum (BAM) is hosting their annual Art in the Park at Julia Davis Park. This will be the museum’s 65th year of this locally famous open air festival. The festival will go three days and will host over 260 artists and vendors including 48 new artists and 102 Idahoan artists. There will also be food trucks and tasty treats galore! The best part about this festival is there is no admission, it’s free! Additionally, you have the opportunity to support these local artist and the Boise Art Museum. There is truly something for everyone at this annual Boise celebration.

Foods

Food, as we all know, is an art form! At this festival, local restaurants are not afraid to show off their artistic flare! This event has every type of food you could possibly hope to find. This includes Egyptian, Mexican, Greek, Asian and more! Not to mention some of the Boise favorites such as Mad Mac, The BBQ Guy, Pronto Pups and Calle 75 Street Tacos! As far as sweets go, there will be funnel cakes, gelato, shaved ice and so much more! Local favorites like Bucksnort Soda, Stella’s Ice Cream, Murphy’s Mini Donuts and most famous of all the Idaho Ice Cream Potato! Come hungry and ready to eat while you stroll around in awe of all the incredible pieces on display!

Who Should Come?

This festival welcomes all ages and provides entertainment for all. For children, there is a kid’s tent full of crafts that is located just north of the Rose Garden. For $2, your child choose to do up to three crafts all provided and inspired by the Boise Art Museum. The tent is open from 11-6 on Friday and Saturday and 11-4 on Sunday. As far as other entertainment, there will be music and other performances in the Gene Harris Bandshell. For the adult audience, there is a Sculpture Garden Pub which is located directly behind the Boise Art Museum. You can relax in the shade and have a nice drink before returning to the festival. Service starts at 11am.

Raffle

The BAM is putting on a raffle selling tickets at the Art in the Park information booths! If you win the raffle you could win Apple Watch® series 4, 12 Alpine Lift Tickets at Bogus Basin or a luxury stay at The Grove Hotel! At these tents they will also sell Boise Art Museum merchandise and memberships to visit the museum whenever you please and see all the latest exhibits!

 

Art in the Park at Julia Davis is just one of the incredible festivals hosted in Boise every year that we are so lucky to be a part of!
