Make Each Day the Best
Anyone who knows me, knows I am a maximizer. I always try to make the most of every situation I am in and constantly look for ways to get the most out of this wonderful life we get to live! Big changes are made throughout our small and simple everyday practices. I want to share five of the daily practices I have implemented into my life, which have helped me to make each day the best in both my career and personal life. Though these suggestions are on a small scale, they have a world of positive impact. Let’s get to it!
My Daily Practices
Be present. When we are conscious to live in the moment, we will enjoy what is happening around us. There is so much to learn when we take in the “right now” occurrences. Throughout each task, each experience, and each conversation in the day, I would suggest taking a moment to take in the present. When I stay present, not distracted by the past or trying to foresee the future, I am much more effective. I have a better read on my circumstances, and I feel that I am accomplishing what I am meant to for that day.
2. Plan out the day. Do you have a packed day today? Try cutting your laundry list of things to do in half, trust me! Remain focused on the essential items for your day, and carefully plan your to-do list with the things that matter most to you. Focus on the ultra-important 2-3 projects for both your career and personal life. This will make better use of your valuable time and help you feel clear and less stressed throughout the day. I guarantee your productivity will increase and you will be a better resource to others!
3. Declutter. Your surroundings have a big influence on the way you operate every day. Decluttering even a small space in your home or workspace can make a huge difference to your happiness and mood. I know it always lifts my spirit! A great place to start might be by clearing your desk or a drawer or shelf. This will give you a quick, fresh start for the day, and set you up to accomplish more!
4. Take a walk. Daily walks are my happy place! Taking a walk is a great way to stay moving and active without having to go through a hardcore workout. Get outside, take in the fresh air, and get some movement in. This also gives you time to clear your mind and even appreciate the beauty of nature as you walk. During my walks, I like to keep my thoughts positive and full of gratitude. This practice has really shaped the way I mentally approach my everyday tasks.
5. Spend time with your loved ones. This is my favorite practice! It was a moment of pure joy to spend even a few minutes with my kids this morning as I dropped them off at school. Whether it’s your children, a partner, a family member, or a good friend, make time to spend some quality time with those you love. Another option for days where it might not be possible to meet together, a phone call to text message to those you hold close is a great idea too. This always improves my day and boosts my mood!
Making the Most of Every Day
These five daily habits have improved my day-to-day life. Although every day might not be our very best day, I am a strong believer that we can make the most of what we are given. With the right healthy practices in place and a striving attitude to reach the potential each day brings, we will be successful!
